Hi NG,

Could anyone from Australia let me know how much of City Select and /or
Metroguide I could fit in the 60CS memory (ie Eastern Australia for both or
only City Select Victoria and Eastern Metroguide) ?

Cheers,

Cam

Firstly, Australia has City Navigator (V4, 5 & 6), and Metroguide. No City
Select.

Usages for CN4, CN5, and MGAUST are as follows; I don't have CN6, but would
assume it takes up more. CN Aust would include Routing Data. Below has
overlaps where state lines don't match map segments, and is close
approximation.

Map Whole Aust Greater VIC Greater
NSW Greater QLD Greater WA
CN Aust V 4.0 44.9mb 12.5Mb 23.4Mb
9.17Mb 5.54Mb
CN Aust V 5.0 60.0mb 17.0Mb 24.1Mb
13.4Mb 7.38Mb
MG Aust V4 48.0mb 13.2.0Mb 17.2Mb
11.7Mb 6.20Mb

Mostly, VIC and NSW would be over approximated, and both tends to include
Canberra

So, for your 56mb of memory, you will have to pick and choose if you want MG
and CN loaded at the same time. Spend more, get the 76CS, and you can come
very close to having the whole of Australia on City Navigator AND
Metroguide. Personally, I think Metroguide will not be needed unless you
spend lots of time in the bush and need to find small roads there.

Thanks for the info.

I know that the 76 has more memory but I really prefer the 60cs. If I'm
going to travel interstate and have a need for autorouting, I'll just have
to bring my laptop ...

Cheers again,

Cam
