I realize this was only going to come with the world base map, but I
have a Quest 2 and wanted the following:

1. make routes on the PC and upload them
2. pull out the tracking data for later review

I can do both, but without a better map, item 1 is pretty limited. I
can't even find one of the cities that I want to plan a trip to! So my
question is this. Since Quest 2 came without any mapsource CD's, but
just preloaded data, is there any way to get a CD without buying the
full price one? I already "bought" the maps once but they are in my
quest 2.

Thanks in advance for any tips. I did just request from garmin.com the
"update" dvd for city select north america V7. Not sure though if
that's going to work for me or not. Since I don't have a previous city
select installed on my PC.

You can get Metroguide, which is marginally less expensive than City
Select (which is what's loaded on your Quest). They are the same product,
except Metroguide won't autoroute on the GPS.

Yes, you "bought" the maps for the GPS, but not for the PC. That's
the compromise in getting a Quest 2 (or a 2620, or a 2720, etc.)

It won't.
