Marine Mapsource Route Editing Question
|
|
|
| I purchased a Garmin 178C and Blue Chart Americas v7 for my boat. I've been
extremely happy with the chart plotter's capabilities and performance.
Tonight I was trying to create some routes on my laptop using MapSource 6.5
and I have some questions.
(1) I have a route that takes me to a certain way point. I have a 2nd route
that goes from this waypoint to another way point. Is there a simple way to
combine these two routes into a single route?
(2) I've completed drawing a route, but then decide I'd like to extend the
route further on. How do I do this using the mouse on the chart. What I'd
like to do is select the last waypoint and then just add to the route by
clicking on the screen. This does not seem possible, or I just haven't
figure out how to do it.
(3) Does Garmin offer a mechanism where customers can make suggestions for
their products.
Thanks,
RJ Clark

| RJC,
Your answers in CAPS. This is a MapSource issue, not Blue Chart.

NO. BUT YOU CAN EXTEND ONE OF THE ROUTES AND CLICK ON THE WAYPOINTS OVER
THE SECOND ROUTE TO ACCOMPLISH THE SAME THING. THEN SELECT THE UNWANTED
SECOND ROUTE AND DELETE IT. SEE NEXT ANSWER.

USING THE POINTER TOOL (ARROW) CLICK ON THE ROUTE OF INTEREST (make it
yellow). RIGHT CLICK ON THE ENDPOINT OF INTEREST. SELECT "EXTEND
ROUTE" FROM THE DROPDOWN MENU. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO INVERT THE COMPLETED
ROUTE IF THE DIRECTION IS OPPOSITE WHERE YOU WANT TO GO.

IT'S ON THEIR WEBSITE. GOOD LUCK,... I'VE MADE NUMEROUS SUGGESTIONS
WITH NO AVAIL.
