How to I fix the problem is my 2610 not locking on the roads? It's way off
and I don't know how I did it? There also now seems to be a circle around
my Pointer Position, what's that all about and how do I get rid of it?

Are the appropriate maps for the area you are traveling loaded? My
understanding is that the 2610 is smart enough to know that it should be on
a road and the program logic in the unit will try to position the curser on
top of the closest road on the City navigator maps. If it can't locate a
road on the map then the curser will display (probably on the base maps in
the unit) with a circle that shows the margin of error. I had a similar
problem when I first started to use my 2610. I re-downloaded the map data
and made sure that I included all of the intended maps. I haven't had the
problem since.

Have you got an icon (arrow ?) in the top left hand corner ? - I think
my 2620 does something similar when i`ve dragged the screen around -
it`ll stay where you dragged it, and highlight where you are.

In order to get better or more detail information, it's better if you =
give
a little more detail of what you have at your end (besides 2610 & =
problem).
Example.

1. Do you have Street-Level map loaded (I don't have 2610 to know if it's
pre-loaded map or external street-level map)

2. Do you happen to load/use other street-level map than the one came =
with
2610?

3. Does it happen everywhere all the time or just some specific street or
hi-way?

4. Does the Pointer set to be at current location, or do you happen to =
move
the Pointer around (manually)?

See, there are so may different things can happen, and it's hard to give
the right answer to a simple question.

5. The Circle around pointer, I have seen it happened to my old Street =
Pilot
several times, but don't remember exactly what was going on to give you
the right answer. But I am guessing it was trying to locate the
satellite .... or pointing to the *current* Pointer on the map instead =
of
current location where the car is (just guessing).
