StreetPilot2720 ports on speaker side?

| I noticed there are two small ports on the side of the speaker on the DC
cigarette lighter/ speaker power cord. I don't see anything in the manual
about these ports. What are they for? Are they for a future upgrade?
Also the bottom three buttons of the remote control have VCR type symbols
under them ( |<< , >>| , > |= )
but they don't seem to work with anything, even when running a route
simulation. How do these functions work with these buttons?

These are where the DR cable attaches for units with dead reckoning
support. The same speaker/power cord is used for the entire 26x0/27x0
line, so you get these ports even if your GPS doesn't use it.

OK thanks, I was hoping maybe there was another useful feature for the 2720
that was not in the manual.
