Garmin GPS - etrex Legend and Mapsource

I recently purchased the eTrex Legend and Mapsource Metroguide
North America. I live in an area that is close to the corner
point of 4 different maps in Metroguide. To cover my area, I
would need to download all 4. Unfortunately, that adds up to
more than the 8 MB that the eTrex Legend has available, and
there is no support for a card. Is there a way to remove some
of the data or take just a portion of a particular defined map
in Mapsource MetroGuide? For example, I really wouldn't need
one of the maps to cover as much territory as it does, or I
could eliminate some of the interest points that just don't
interest me. Any way to do this? I'm new to all of this.
