How do I make custom POI's to load to my SP2720? I downloaded the Garmin POI
Loader program but the instructions for making custom POI's is not very
clear. It just says to make a .csv file with the POI's listed as the
following example:
-94.81549,38.80390,Bonita
-94.79731,38.81099,Ridgeview@25
-94.74240,38.81952,Heritage Park

Do I make waypoints on my Mapsource program and then take all the lon/lat,
and name info and paste it to a list using notepad, then save as a .csv
file?
I don't know if I would want mess anything up by doing it wrong, so I want
to make sure.
Is there a sample .csv file or a utility I could use?

Thanks,
Lou

While I can only speak for my c320, yes that will work. It is, however =
IMO, a pretty convoluted and time consuming way to add waypoints.

I'd use the Mapsource program itself to create a waypoint and transfer =
it to your gps ... just rt-click on the map at the position of the =
desired waypoint, create the waypoint & label it, then use the =
'transfer' from the top menu to send it to your SP.

If you absolutely, positively have to use lat/long, I'd use something =
like 'EasyGPS' (www.easygps.com) to create a new waypoint from lat/long =
(you can add symbols, comments, etc.) and then click the 'Send' button =
to send it to the GPS (it's not named EasyGPS for nothing).

The only difference is that these waypoints will go to 'Favorites' and =
not 'Custom POI's' ... also, all waypoints created must be in areas =
(States) that are in your gps database or they will not display, either =
in Favorites or POI's.

Again, I'm working with a SP c320, so YMMV.

What is the mapsource program? Did it come with my 330 or do I need to
purchase separately?

Thanks...

Mapsource should be on the CD ... if you don't have it, try downloading =
it from:
http://www.garmin.com/support/downl...ls.jsp?id=3D209

Again, I don't have the 330 so I should refrain from being too explicit =
....
