I recently bought a Vista C. I have a number of queries and suggestions:
1. Unlike my old Legend, the Vista C has no firmware support for
Lithium batteries. Why? Please add that in the next firmware. The
Energizer e2 batteries are very nice..
2. The data fields take up a lot of map real-estate. It would be nice
to have an option of a smaller font and to eg show 3 fields in a row.
IMHO, the field names can be smaller and better abbreviated too, plus,
there is some wasted space on either side of each field..
3. I would love for a simple backlight 'toggle' rather than the 3-step
off/on/full
4. There is no way to show only the GPS elevation. The barometric
altimeter does not work in pressurized conveyances, so it would be
nice to have either an option to turn the barometric altimeter off, or
to at least have a separate GPS elevation data field, and to select
which to use for altitude calculations/recording
6. Projecting waypoints
In the projecting waypoints function, the bearing is always 000 deg.
It would be much more helpful if it offered the current/last bearing
one was walking (or even constantly updated it from the internal
compass/GPS until one pressed 'Enter' on that field), which would
allow one to 'sight' the waypoint one wants to project.
[ All that is missing then is a laser distance meter :-) ]
7. I really liked to 1000 waypoint limit on the Legend. Can an option
be added to allow for more waypoints ?
regards
Mathias
PS: your input form always complains 'the serial number must be 8
characters long for the Vista C' when I have entered exactly 8 digits.
What gives?

The reason Garmin haven't got back to you is that they are working night and
day trying to make all these changes just for you.... (-:
