Other than Dell, all you describe are sales channels. There's way more
to a product like a GPS than just selling it.

There's complete. Then there's easy to use. Then there's enjoyable to
use. Compare the iPod to any of the dozens of other MP3 players to see
how the knockoffs fail miserably in the market.

Nope. All they have to do is to provide a product that their customers
want to buy. It's not a debate.

I'd argue that value matters most. Look at the MP3 player market; it's
not the low price point player that's winning.

It depends. Some buyers aren't technophiles, and don't want all the
bells and whistles.

Have you looked at different Garmin products? Their software is
different.

Price pressure is always there, but having good distribution is often
more important. A lower price is irrelevant if the customer can't see
it.

CPUs are not the same as consumer products. The marketing is totally
different.
