No roads near starting point ???
|
|
|
| Hello!
Trying to get my Legend C routing , I´ve got no results at all but a "route
calculation error" : No roads near starting point .
The routing test is simple : a urban route from my home to my brother´s
one...6-7 turns in a 2 km way.
But the amazing bug is that...there´s no road near the starting point ´cause
.... I´m on the road!!!
I think the error is a matter of a little mistake I´ve must done in any
setting, but I feel unable to find it. I´m a Legend user (no C) two years
ago, but it had no routing capabilities, and this error is new to me.
Any help will be welcome!
Thanx in advance!

The Legend C needs routable detailed maps.
Otherwise it tries to route on the basemap.
Without routable detailed maps you can use "off-road routing"

| Thanks for answering!
I´ve forgotten to say it has Europe Metroguide maps loaded...it´s not
working with the base map.

Europe Metroguide maps are not routable - so it tries to route with the
routable Basemap.

City Select (And City Navigator, but it is only available with other GPS
receivers) are routable in the GPS. Metroguide can only generate routes on
the computer. That is where the difference in cost and licensing
restrictions are. Otherwise, Metroguide and City Select have identical
maps.

not with MapSource.
AFAIK there is a way to make the MetroGuide routable on the GPSR: you
have to upload the map with Sendmap20 or Map2GPS.

The Garmin website doesn´t explain it very clearly...I´ll try to get some
info about.
