That's down to Sony and their website / CS.

If you believe that, you can't buy trivial things like USB mice and replacement
batteries.

I'd not be surprised to learn they don't support this new product any more,
from the website.

And then it be confirmed by email to Sony customer support.

I've been there, apparently they no longer support the iLink (or whatever they
use) cables - too old, my Sony camcorder and Sony laptop. But they sell it when
you have a camcorder or laptop that is newer - same cable, by the specs. I
bought the cable from someone else.

Well, it was a third of the price that Sony charge for their proprietary cable,
for the same - entirely functional - cable from China as I recall. But that's
ok, Sony don't support that cable any more, even though it's the same cable as
the one they do support.

And none of the batteries, same battery though it is.

Roughly speaking you should not bother with Sony kit when you don't know about
sorting out any technical issues yourself, the products go out of date in no
time and then you get "we don't support it, thanks for your time!"

It's like the Sony Memory Stick. My camcorder doesn't take them now, I need a
newer one. But, oddly, buy a similar stick from anyone else and, lookee, it
works.

Gawd, I should shut up now, I'm sounding like I think Sony would notice this -
and I already know my reply-to is disguised.
