I have Mapsource TOPO and how do I get updates to the maps themselves? Quite
often in the area I live (Greenville SC) I am "driving" across country on
the TOPO map but of course I am actually on a paved road. Sometimes they are
missing whole new sections of interstates and not just secondary and
neighborhood roads.
Does Garmin ever update the maps themselves or only the software to manage
the maps?
Thanks!

The Mapsource topo maps are based on USGS data that does not get updated
often (in fact, teh data is probably about 30 years old). Garmin would only
be able to update it if and when the USGS updates the source data, which is
unlikly any time soon.

The City Select street maps get yearly updates (not free).

If you don't have an autorouting GPS, use MetroGuide instead of
City Select. It's a bit cheaper.
