I checked with the product page on the garmin site but all it does is
make suggestions of the newest titles but I was hoping to use one of the
versions that was a bit older and a lot cheaper off of ebay. Does anyone
know which works? Also, any suggestions of which works the best for
street navigating? Thanks!

It would help to know what part of the world you lived in.

In the US, MetroGuide v4 was the only MetroGuide version to support
autorouting on the GPS. Note however that this data is a few years old
and had its share of inaccuracies in urban areas, but it's also unlocked.
Newer versions of Metroguide USA (v5 and later) will not autoroute on
the GPS but are good for downloading street maps. Earlier versions of
MetroGuide (3 and lower) did not have any autorouting data at all and
map accuracy that's best defined as "crude".

Any version of City Select will provide autorouting on your GPS. Newer
versions have newer map data. City Select requires an unlock code so
buy from eBay at your own risk.
