Strange problem when trying to install V7 over CN V6. I have installed and
updated Mapsource since V4 on the root directory of my pc. Also updated to
City Navigator 4.01, 5 and 6. My root directory just happens tobe F:/ and
so far no other software has had a problem installing. Along comes CN V7
and no joy. I get the Invalid Drive C:/ error and there is no browse option
to direct it to my root directory. Anyone heard of this or have a solution?
I spoke with Garmin and it was the same old "Uninstall, cleanup the
registry, delete Garmin directories, clear Temp files, etc" and should be no
problem. Wrong, still a problem. Figured you guys were better at solving
problems than most, so hope you can help.

Cheers.

I just got an i2 with the V7 software. The data is on a DVD (not a CD), a
fact that went right over my head until I got it home. I kept getting a
drive error message when I tried to install it with my CD drive. I managed
to borrow a laptop with a DVD drive and got the job done. Could this be your
problem?

Which GPS receiver are you installing for?

Reason I ask is that some receivers require that you launch the installer
from the original CD first (and it will launch the setup.exe).

Good luck.
