Author Newcomer requiring advice!

I recently borrowed my dad's Etrex and took it with me on a trip to the
US. I'm more interested in the track logs aspect than the navigational
functions. I like the idea of extracting the tracklogs and plotting
them on maps, I tried this with Google Earth and was impressed. Does
anyone know how I'd go about plotting them on a Google Maps image on my
webpage?

I'm also interested in geotagging my digital photos, for this I assume
I'll need a file with my tracklog in it. I see Expert GPS exports .gpx
files, how does Expert GPS compare with the Garmin Mapsource Trip &
Waypoint Manager? What files does the Expert GPS output? Which would
people recommend? Can anyone point me in the direction of info on
geotagging photos?

I've ordered a Etrex Visa C so I have basic mapping, I'm off skiing in
a couple of weeks so is there any kind of mapping available for
European ski resorts (specifically the Three Valleys in France) that I
can use on it?

All advice gratefully received!

Thanks,
Geoff
