No way to convert MP3 to Audible AA, (for Garmin 350) right or wrong ?

| I spent an hour Googling this and came up with nothing. The task is
to convert an historical novel from .MP3 to .AA so my son can listen
to it on his new Garmin 350 GPS - which will play MP3s but only AA
books are bookmarkable.
With hopes that someone can point me to a utility I missed.

| Thanks Phil - It was suggested on another ng that they are the same,
for some reason I doubt it, but it will be easy to test. Will report
back when I have meaningful info.

| Don't know if it will work with the Garmin 350, but I use iTunes to
convert MP3s to AAC format. (Right click on file name and select
Convert To AAC). The converted files have m4a extensions. I then
rename the files to change the extensions to m4b. They then play on
my iPod as audiobooks with bookmarking capabilities.
