Author How to connect a Garmin eTrex to a Palm Tungsten T??

I'm trying to connect a eTrex Legend to a Palm Tungsten T. I have a Garmin
data cable and a Palm Universal Connector. What I need to find (but haven't
found yet) is the pin-out to wire the two together. Does anyone have that
info, or can send me in the right direction?

Thanks!

You really should try yourself you lazy ****** - it would only have taken
you 5 minutes using Google!

Legend - RTFM! Appendix F, page 58
http://www.garmin.com/manuals/ eTre...
nual.pdf

or search for "etrex pinout rs232"
http://www.syz.com/gps/etrex2info.pdf
data in (Rx) - green - pin 3 (next to key-slot) to pin 3 of DB-9
data out (Tx) - white - pin 2 to pin 2 of DB-9

Palm - search for "palm-universal-connector pinout"
http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/hardware/palmhardware
Rx (in) - 10
Tx (out) - 11

Remember that you must connect Rx to Tx and vice versa

David,

Thanks for the info, but it's not necessary to get abusive. I did search
using Google for over 2 hours and for the most part only found sites wanting
to sell me cables to connect the 2 units. I will admit that I tried "palm
universal connector pinout garmin", not "palm-universal-connector pinout"
that would have been more successful.

I did find
"http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/hardware/palmhardware/ electrical_interface
(16-
pin)signals.pdf", but didn't know which pin to connect to. I always to to
find answers to problems myself, before asking for assistance (rarely). This
is the first time I've been called a "lazy *******".

Thanks again,

Here is a couple of more links for info on the Palm Universal Connector:

http://www.gomadic.com/support.html#palm

They also sell various connectors there, including some with cables
already attached.

You can get the Palm pinouts at http://tinyurl.com/qx5e. The Garmin
eTrex pinouts are at http://tinyurl.com/bcz64. The latter is in
Japanese, but partway down the page there is a picture, with English for
data in, data out, and ground, which are all you need. You should be
able to combine the two and get the correct pinouts. I've done it
several times, so it can't be that hard.
