It came UPS Next Day Air...for free! Thanks, Darrel!

Looks just like my Vista C. At some point someone noticed that a Cx unit
was heavier than a C unit (I think they were talking about the specs for a
60C and 60Cx). This Vista has a metal battery compartment cover. Rubber
coats the outside like the regular plastic ones, but the metal is exposed on
the inside. That makes a weight difference. Bought a 512MB card with it.
I *guess* you format these using the FAT file system? I don't see that
written anywhere, but that's how the 32MB card that came with it was
formatted. The 512MB card came with an adapter that it slides into and
makes it into a regular-sized SD card. Nice. Haven't loaded any maps yet.
I'm still at work. :)

A few observations.

There is a 1050 map limit? I'm running MapSource 6.8. Is that its limit or
the Cx's limit? Depending on the map set that doesn't even come close to
filling a 512MB uSD card.

It takes MapSource about 5 mins to build a 1050-map map set. It takes about
20 mins to load 250-300MBs of maps. After loading a bunch of maps it looks
like the Americas Marine Points "map" is still in there. It did not get
overwritten. Huh.

You can't load any maps without the memory card installed, so they didn't do
something like leave the internal 24MBs installed (or at least accessable).

It seems like it takes a long time (in microprocessor years) for something
to show up on the display after you press the power button. Longer than all
of my other Garmins.

Did you know you can press the "enter" key (click stick) on the
'credits'/welcome page to get it to go on to the satellite page faster? The
amount of time spent showing the map credits is getting a bit annoying,
especially when they spend so much time kissing someone's body part, but no
longer spend ANY time showing the more prudent navigation warning message
that they used to show.
