Garmin GPS - What does NT mean?

What does NT mean?

I have a StreetPilot 2620. Is this an "NT unit"? Or, are there versions of
this that are NT and versions that aren't?

When I upgraded to City Navigator 7, I don't recall "NT" being an issue.

Looking at Garmin's web site, there are two versions of City Navigator v8.
One is for NT units, the other isn't. How can I tell which one to order>

NT means New Technology. The only difference is a the compression
technique used to create the DVDs. Details here:

I'd guess that if your 2620 came with NT mapping it is a NT unit but a
call to Garmin tech support will sort it out. Their toll free number
and a speaker phone for the 10-15 minute (or less) wait has worked for
me several times.
