| I've got the subject GPS with City Navigator 8 and have a question.
When I search for a nearby point of interest (Find/All POI/Menu/Find Nearby
Containing...). Often, the POI I'm looking for pops right up, but I can't
seem to stop the search. It has to complete the entire search before I can
select the POI. Is there anyway to abort the search but keep the items
already found available to select?

I believe you just move over and click the OK button instead of
choosing the next letter, and it will stop. Then you can scroll down to
what you want.

Actually, it still continues searching, but you can scroll through the
list and work with them, except as described below.
I have found one quirk with this. If I select OK before the unit finds
the first POI, then when it finds them, it won't let me do anything
with them until it finishes the search. It won't even let me scroll
through the list. If I wait until it finds at least one POI before I
select OK, I can scroll through the list and work with them, even while
the search is continuing.

Just tried it out on my 60C and PAGE allowed me to leave the alphabet
screen and see what had been found without having to click OK.

I wasn't sure if you saw the response to your question since someone
changed the subject:
Select PAGE while the search is going on and you'll abort it and be
able to select from the results which were found.
