It seems like it should be. I see a Garmin USB device in the Device
Manager when I have my 76Cx connected as a GPS and that changes to a
Removable Drive if I put the GPS in the Mass Storage Mode.
I'm not sure the drivers will help, but thought it might be worth a try.
I got this link from the page for the GPSMAP 76Cx, I think they are the
same for all Garmins that can connect by USB:
http://www.garmin.com/support/downl...ails.jsp?id=591
Also I notice that the 660 page does not offer any USB drivers and that
there is a recent software update for the 660 here:
http://www.garmin.com/support/colle...ct=010-00540-00
I installed the USB drivers when I got my 76Cx because the Cd that came
with it either offered to or said I should. The drivers are unpacked
and installed to a \garmin folder off of the root. I don't think the
system install them or uses them unless a hardware found wizard looks
for and finds them or you lead a wizard to it through a update drivers
menu from the Device Manager. Or something like that anyway. :> )
I think there is some interplay depending on your OS (I'm on win2k pro,
it may vary for xp). And maybe even some weirdness in drivers and
hardware presentations from one Garmin device to another.
Hope I've done more here than add a layer of confusion to the problem
you are having.
