Author Using a previous version of City Select?

I seem to recall reading that once you upgrade to a later mapping product,
you are no longer able to load the previous version. Is this correct? In my
case, I upgraded from City Select v7 to City Navigator v8. Because of the
smaller segment sizes in City Select, it would occasionally be better for me
to load maps created there, even knowing they are a year older.

You can use older version. Did you try it and have a problem?

You can always go back to previous versions. I have 3 versions of city
navigator loaded in my 2610.

You can have both versions installed on the GPS at the same time if you want
without any problems. (Just remember to turn of the version you don't want
to use.)

I have a GPSMAP 60 and CN8 have way to big segment sizes for that unit. So
I use CS7 from time to time on that unit.

If you had not used the 2nd free install on another unit with the
current version of the mapping software then it is lost after the
upgrade to v8 (basically moving to any newer version kills the ability
for the 2nd unit).
