Any Updated WorldMap From 3.02?

| Does Garmin ever update WorldMap?
My CD is marked "Version 3.02" with copyright through 2004. The maps are not
particularly accurate in the Caribbean (the house I visit is shown 1/2-mile
out into the ocean).
It would seem that any map product should be a *bit* more accurate than
that!
Are there alternative accurate maps available from other vendors covering
the Caribbean and South/Central America? I'm using a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx
device.

Not a vendor, but you could try:

I think not. I don't recommend anyone buy that without looking at the
online map viewer for it first, it can be very disappointing.
If, for example, you compare it to the U.S. base map that is included
with the North American receivers it is mediocre at best.
I'll bet Garmin prefers it that way so that people outside the North
American market will not buy the models that are cheaper in the U.S. and
get an equivalent basemap from software (i.e., they are protecting their
non-U.S. dealers).
I use my 76Cx with BlueNav marine charts and often find myself quite a
ways (100 yards, maybe even more) up on the basemap land mass. Have not
found an instance where a BlueNav marine chart has shown my location as
anywhere but on the water and where I thought I was from other
navigational references.
The Marine Point database for U.S. waters (included in some or all North
American models) is excellent for both the number of points it has in it
and the accuracy of their locations. I would trust the locations of the
marks and use them for navigation (without BlueNav maps) in familiar
waters if I had too. Otherwise, the quality of the BlueNav charts is
wonderful.
