Author Polaroid sunglasses and Garmin screens.

Had an HP iQue with Pharos GPS software. After using it for several months I
got new Polaroid sunglasses. Imagine my shock when the screen went dark if
held in the normal upright position. Rotating it 90 deg. allowed me to view
the screen but that confuses the brian as you try to drive and observe the
screen. Besides the speech volume in this unit is too low.

Purchased a Garmin SP2620 after looking at units in the store with my
sunglasses on - NO PROBLEM. Was considering upgrading to a newer unit such
as one of the nuvi series and found the screens did not look good with the
polaroid glasses on - weak and fuchia colored. Some others were worse. I
urge anyone contemplating the purchase of a new GPS to wear your sunglasses
into a store such as Circuit City, Staples & such and check out the model
you are interested in, especially if you wear Polaroid glasses or are
thinking you may go to them in the future.

Just my two cents, hoping to save somone some grief.

I had the same exerience with the motorbike helmet on. The old one the
screen was barely readable, with the new helmet the screen is great in
normal position. So I would extend your saying by "with any glasses or
optics, not only sunglases".
