c530/c550 text-to-speech

I'm very happy with my c530, especially its non-glare screen and the SIRF
technology, although I would like to have the text-to-speech feature of the
c340/c550. I don't need most of the other extra features of the c550 --
bluetooth, MP3, and the traffic-reporting doesn't impress me -- so I can't
justify spending the extra $150-200 just for the c550's text-to-speech.
Can text-to-speech in the c530 be implemented by some type of firmware
upgrade?
