This release has a 8.9mb larger file then previous 6.11.6 release.
Changes made from version 6.11.5 to 6.11.6:
This version of MapSource no longer supports Windows 98, Windows ME,
and Windows NT.
Fixed an issue with transferring map sets larger than 2 GB to units.
MapSource supports transferring map sets up to 4 GB in size. Note that
some units do not support map sets over 2 GB in size.
Fixed an issue with creating a waypoint from Japanese address search
result.
Fixed an issue with MapSource not finding Google Earth Pro when
installed.

| Should this type of update be downloaded and transferred to my 2610? That
is, I think the 2610 recognizes a max map size of 2 gig, I don't have any
Japanese waypoints, and I don't have Google Earth Pro. Was any "map data"
updated or was it just the logic used to manage/process the current map
data?

| Something strange going on - in the Change History the same information
is repeated three times, and there have been ever-increasing file sizes
without the release number changing. A left-hand/right-hand
non-interface at Garmin?

There is also a discrepency between the file size quoted on the web
page (45.87 MB) and the actual download (43.7 MB).
Given that, as noted in another thread, that Mapsource and Google Earth
(ordinary) are now incompatible, I think we can expect 6.11.7 or 6.11.6
version 4 along shortly!

There is nothing wrong with the file size of 43.7mb. After you download
file to your computer and right click on it and click on properties you
will see where the file size is 45.87 or so showing on their download
page..

I've transfered data from the laptop to my 76CSx and also
from the 76 to the laptop quite a bit since upgrading to
6.11.6. Had no problems with that. The only issue I have
with it is that Google Earth won't display any of the GPX
data as it should, evertying else is working ok here.
No pink screen.

Sounds like you uploaded a file to MapSource that had mapsets loaded
and then maps will turn pink showing the mapsets you have loaded. When
you see the pink map bet it goes away when you click on file then new.

Google earth version 3 (non beta version-hate betas) works ok for me in
latest 6.11.6 MapSource version. When I open up a file in MapSource
that has routes or waypoints or both and click on view in google earth
it takes me right to the google earth map. Then all I do is click on
any of my routes or waypoints in temporary places section and it zooms
right in to see all the routes and waypoints Il loaded.

ok, thanks Jerry. I'll try deinstalling V4 and going back to
V3 and see if that works.

Unfortunately I do not have the information in front of me but it has to do
with gps babel. Download gps babel 1.3.2 and replace the version of gps
babel that comes with Google Earth and your gpx files will display. Do a
search on Google and you will find reference to the information I have just
given you. It may also be on the Google Earth forums.

Thanks Bill. If I get ambitious I'll try it. I downleveled
GE to V3 and it works fine so I'm not sure I'll mess with V4
and babel for a while. Too much other stuff goin' on. ;)
