Having recently uploaded the latest software maybe that is where it has
come from, on the other hand maybe I have, unknowingly, pressed the
wrong button. My 60csx now shows a small display in the lower left hand
corner of the screen. I assume it is to do with searching for
satellites, it consists of a small green crescent at the bottom, 2
yellow "torch" beams moving left to right and right to left pointing up
towards three l0l symbols. This is present even if I select no
satellite. Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the pesky thing?

Yes, sounds like it is searching the sky. How do
you select "no satellite"?

Page to the "Acquiring Satellites" page, press menu then select "Use
with GPS Off". Or enter "SET Up", enter, "System" enter, toggle to GPS,
enter, select "GPS Off"

This is the icon you get when switch on and immediately perform a
"Find" and "Goto" or you have a Find/Goto still pending. It is stiil
searching for a satellite fix prior to doing the autoroute calculation.
The icon does not appear if there is no FInd/Goto in progress. To clear
it goto the map page, then menu and choose "Stop Navigation".

You do not say if you have autorouteable mappin loaded. I'm not sure
whether you can start this search if you haven't.

Yeah . knew about all that .. just never heard it
referred to as "no satellites" ;-)

Seems it should not be trying to acquire then.
Have your resolved this issue?
