Modifying points of interest on 60csx?

| Is it possible to add or take away POI? For example can I add pubs when
I find them or remove them when they have closed? I know I can mark
extra ones with a waypoint, but these would disappear when I "clean" it up.

You have to report the error to the map vendor, which often is Navteq.
Then they'll update their database, which Garmin relies on for the next
update of the maps.
These POI's are integrated in the map data, so you can't fix them
yourself.

Garmin has a free POI loader, I have not used it but it sounds like it
would do what you want to do:

Thanks Jack, I will have a go at that, when I pluck up the courage, and
post here to let peeps know how easy it is, which it will be if I succeed.

I think the supplied POI's are "read-only". However you can use
Garmin's POI loader to upload your own POI's. You can add to or remove
from this in MapSource, or any other gpx editor. The nearest you could
get to removing a Garmin POI would be to create a "negative" POI of
your own noting the problem. I use POI's for things like Home and other
places I don't want to accidently delete when tidying up ephemoral
waypoints, they are just that - more permanent waypoints.
