Author POI Loader?

Does Garmin's POI Loader have the capability of removing the custom
POI's from the unit? Or do you have to remove them manually?

Thanks,

Fairly basic that POI Loader, but I understand that there is NO WAY to
remove Garmin's own POIs. I have not been able to remove mine manually
(Nuvi).

I must be dense, but I don't see where you can remove the custom
POI's.

Anothe question, are the custom POI's in a separate folder/listing on
the unit?

Start POI Loader -> connect your device -> next screen -> See your
device found and select memory (if needed, in my iQueM4 I have a choice
of Memory, Safe Memory, SD Card) -> next screen and you have a choice:
-Install new custom POI's onto your device (this is default)
-Remove all previously installed custom POI's from your device

This depend on the unit, Ique keep POI's in \Garmin\poi folder, the
same in MobileXT. I don't know how nuvi or SP handle POI's

Your question is about CUSTOM POI's. You created your custom file, edit
out the no-longer needed POI and use the POI Loader to re-load your
file. It's hat simple.

Have you tried to remove all custom POIs? You need at least one POI left
to upload a new database to the GPS.

As so - you can't remove POIs from your unit using POILoader, you can only
remove all but one.

I guess custom POIs only are supported on units with memory cards. As so
you can just delete the file on the card.

You can do this way but also:
- with new POI Loader 2.4.0.0
- in same units from the menu

No, POI's are supported on the units with internal memory/no memory
card also

Wojtek

PS. I visited your web page, you can update info on free Garmin maps of
Poland.
Take a look at ump.waw.pl
This contains much more precise data than other free maps

By example iQueM4 (I have), any PDA using MobileXT with GPS10 (also
tested personaly) can store POI's in Main Memory, Quest2, for sure nuvi
and SP Cxxx with build-in maps
