Author MetroGuide versus City Navigator: Difference?

According to Garmin's website:

"Perfect for the urban jungle, MapSource MetroGuide North America v8 DVD
offers similar coverage as City Navigator, including detailed maps
throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico- and now with verified
coverage for Alaska."

Are MetroGuide and City Navigator identical *except* for the [apparent] fact
that MetroGuide is for devices that don't do automatic route calculation?
Or, are there other differences as well?

Yes, the map data and POIs are the same. I believe MetroGuide still
uses smaller map tiles so it's more compatible with units that have
limited memory. Since it's easy to click and drag to choose all the
tiles over large areas this isn't a problem for those with larger
memory devices.
