Garmin GPS V and Citimaps

| Got the Garmin GPS V about two weeks ago. Looks like it will be fun but
since my notebook does not have a serial port, I had to get a serial to USB
adapter to get the Citimaps on to the unit.
So, I finally got the serial to USB adapter cable today. Loaded the driver.
Connected everything up. Still no action. When I click on the Send To
Device, a box comes up which says "If you don't see your device listed
below, connect it to the computer and turn it on then click Find Device."
Now, when I do that, a box comes up saying, "No devices were found. Please
make sure your device is connected to the computer and turned on, then try
again. You may also need to set the interface option on your GPS to Garmin
or host."
It's set to Garmin.
Anyone have any ideas for me? I can't call customer service tonight,
they're closed.
Thanks in advance.

The software will still be looking for a serial device, even though
you use the USB to serial adapter. On my unit, I have to tell it that
it is COM6 and the finds it just fine.
