Got my Garmin 2730 a week ago. Thanks to the folks at TVNAV.com! I
like the GPS portion of the unit. Sure beats loading maps like I had
to do for my Garmin V. The MP3 player works great. Not sure I like XM
Radio for music selection as much as I like Sirius, especially in the
area of alternative rock and classic country (what a combination!)
The only thing that is slightly irritating is gettng the audio through
FM radio. It is certainly a better alternative than the little
speaker that comes on the the end of the cigrarette lighter plug but
having to change frequencies as you travel or put up with interference
from competing stations on the frequency selected is a bit annoying.
The factory installed radio in my Explorer does not have audio inputs,
even though it is a upgrade from the standard AM/FM. I looked at the
inline FM adapters that you can get for XM Radio car units and they
are fed by an antenna connection of a type that does not appear to
exist on on the 2730. Any suggestions?
