| OK, I'm way frustrated here and I don't understand what's going on.
I bought the MapSource Topo for the US. There was no unlock key included. It
seems the package had been opened and the manual was also missing. I went
back to the store and the old disks were exchanged for a new sealed set.
While I was there, I also took advantage of being a short time owner of my
Legend and traded it in for a Vista Cx. (Wow! but that's beside the point.)
I got home and installed the bundled Waypoint Manager, then the Topo set.
Once again, I was asked for an unlock key. Once again, there was no coupon
and my GPS does not have an imbedded unlock code. I've been all over every
manual, all previously sealed, opened every crevice on all may packages and
there's no unlock code. I've tried the Wizard, but guess what? That wants a
code too! I filled out all the registration material, on-line, and even
filled out the registration the wizard promised would return an unlock code.
Still no code!
It's late, I'm cranky and would like to know if this is normal or what? I'll
check the morning to see if there's any help here.

MapSource Topo does not require an unlock key, or at least version 3.0.2 did
not. Have you installed the MapSource program first? That should have come
with the Garmin GPSr. Or I think you can download it from Garmin.

Thanks for the help everyone and boy do I feel foolish.
In the light of day and after a good night's sleep, I read the manual for
the third time. Something I'd not noticed before sprang into view. There, in
the margin, off set by a graphics box and set in bold type was the message
that if your MapSource box does not have a picture of an opened lock
(graphic included in the description), you do *not* need an unlock key for
your maps.
I hang my head in shame and take a few lessons to heart:
1) Never start something new late at night.
2) Always read, re-read, re-re-read the manuals before jumping to
conclusions.
3) Admit your mistakes. Being a fool is not the worst thing that you can
admit to. Besides, you may help someone out of the same predicament or keep
them from making the same silly mistake.

| Your dealer should be able to answer questions like that as well.
