I am considering buying a Garmin SP C340 anyday now and looking around
trying to find best price from a reputable dealer I have seen a few offering
3 yr Mack Warranty extensions for this product.

It also appears from reading it that it extends the warranty for 3 yrs AFTER
the manufacturers warranty so it would really help protect my C340 for upto
4 yrs since Garmin offers first years service.

I wondered if anyone here has ever experienced needing their GPS repaired
and if so has anyone used a MACK warranty (in other words do I need it and
IF I need it do they come thru with repairs).

Anyone with any real experience in this your input is greatly appreciated.

Bill :)

Hi Bill, we sell the Repair Master extended warranties
(http://www.repairmaster.com/) which extend the warranty past the 1 year
Garmin warranty. I personally think that extended warranties are a waste of
money esp. with Garmin units but we had enough requests for the warranties
that we started selling them but that is one item that I would not
recommend. We also have a one year replacement warranty for some of the less
expensive units as well. I have not heard of anyone that needed to use the
warranty so I can't say how they handle claims but they have been around for
years and are a division of Warrantech. I used a Warrantech warranty on a
video camera years ago and there was no problem with the claim at all.
