Author Do I need 2 antennas?

I have a StreetPilot 2620 and an XM receiver (don't remember the model)
in my car. The XM antenna is permanently attached to the the roof.
Now I am planning to upgrade to a StreetPilot 2730 and was wondering if
a will need the second antenna, the one that comes with the 2730.

Shouldn't the 2 units be able to share a single XM antenna?

Thanks for your assistance,

You need an external antenna for your 2620?

Surprising: I've used a Streepilot III for years with no external antenna.

The XM antenna that comes with the 2730 isn't just an antenna: it is also
the radio. So, yes, you will need to use it.

No, I don't. The only antenna that I have is for the XM radio
receiver.

I have a heated front windscreen which obscures the signal unless I use an
external antenna. Using a 2610.

Makes sense. I'd forgotten about those window RF obstructions!
