Author Garmin 60CS Base Map Updates?

I was distressed to see how poorly-defined the Garmin basemap was in some
areas of the World.

I realize that it's not intended to be precise, but the basemap coverage
of the island of Curacao shows water over the first half-mile of land
in one area of the NW coast. I measured several several points atop
the cliffs at the ocean's edge along a one-mile stretch of coast.

In comparison, the Caribbean topo maps offered at http://rwsmaps.griffel.se/
seem much, much better.

Does Garmin update it's basemaps over time and, if so, can the basemap be
updated in an existing 60CS?

Do any of the Garmin map products accurately cover the Caribbean and
Northern South America?
