Hi all,

After a month of my Vista C continually switching itself off every time I
stopped moving someone (on this ng I think) told me it was due to the
compass being on. Thankfully this indeed is the problem. Apart from being
incredibly annoying it rendered the unit almost unusable. After all what
uses is it when its going off in traffic? Anyway, Id like to send it to
Garmin to be fixed if possible but that cant happen because I bought it on
ebay at lower prices than here in rip-off Britain. Only problem is that the
seller didnt include the original reciept in the package...sigh.

I don't know what the actual policies are of Garmin in the UK, but it
wouldn't hurt to call them and see if they'll issue an RMA to send it
in for repair. When I had a problem with my almost one-year old GPS V
I called the US tech support line, described the problem, and was told
to send it in. No receipt was requested nor did I enclose one
(although I do have one).
