odd altimeter readings

| Has anyone else had strange altimeter readings lately? Beginning last
Thursday (Mar 22) every so often my track log will show an altitude of
29999 meters or -15000 meters, and stay like that for the rest of the
log.
Perhaps a unit defect or firmware problem?

Does this happen to be either a 60CSx or 76CSx? There have been a
number of such reports suggesting a firmware problem. If so, report it
to Garmin and hope they can come up with a solution fairly soon.

Oddly, my II+ has been doing the same after several hours of normal operation -
except that it at least detects the irregular operation and says "power down and
re-init". Whether it is the same cause is unknown.

| Yes, sorry - should have mentioned that, it is a 60CSx
