I know so far:
- Simulation doesn't work any more.
- If you lose GPS coverage (tunnel etc.), it may need about
two to three minutes, to get a fix again.
- Some guys reporting of "No GPS coverage" messages although
the satellite screen still shows three locked satellites;
they need at least four satellites for a 2D- and at least
five satellites for a 3D-fix (no matter which constellation
the satellites have).
- Address search is less comfortable (you have to scroll
through all letters while entering the name, not just the
letters which match an existing entry).

| I am with 4.0 for some days and do not found any problems, specially
the ones reported here:
-The simulation works normally
-The problem reported with the sats, does not exist. The unit gets 2D
position as soon it gets 3 sats, and shows a 3D position imediatelly
after the fourth sat.

| So far: voice prompts don't agree with route i.e. route says turn right and
voice says "turn left", loss of satellite lock despite having 5 or more full
strength signals on my usual journey to work (never lost lock before),
slowness in updating map, changes to night setting and back again after
about 5 minutes in the middle of the day. That's all so far, but it's only
been one day since I upgraded :-(

| Seems that your 276 is infected with a virus or worm ......

| Nope, I've sent all this lot off to Garmin & they agree there is a problem
with 4.00. Watch this space . . . .

I get normal sat aquiring in normal time and 3D at 4 sats but the
simulation mode does not work. I haven't noticed any voice nav
problems and I haven't lost sat reception to see how long it takes to
come back.

| Bugs here too. 5 minutes out with v4.0 and suddenly it thought I was
in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. I've gone about 100 miles on 4.0,
and it randomly dropped all sats (clear sky) about 5 times and wouldn't
reacquire without doing a "New Location" procedure that takes several
minutes. Today it was guiding me along normally and suddenly displayed
the message "Unable to navigate due to no roads at current location"
despite roads clearly visible on the map at my current location.
I went back to v3.30 (most recent I could find) and it's back to
normal.
They must have really rushed this through testing. I've logged about
12,000 miles with this unit and never had any problems with new
versions before, even the betas. This is very disappointing...
Plus, the new icons on the find menu are cartoonish and harder to
identify.

| Software 4.1 just launched:
Changes made from version 4.00 to 4.10:
Improved display of lake depth contours.
Improved TracBack when using the entire track.
Improved GPS reception.
