Hello everyone,
I have a GPS V with Mapsource fully unlocked maps,
I plan to buy a GPS 10 withouth maps and I wonder if I can use the maps
I already have (City Select).
Should I unlock the maps for the GPS 10 too?
What is the purpose of unlocking the maps in this case?
This problem arises because I unlocked two GPS V having the first one
being stolen. I would like not to buy the maps again.
With Mapsource/nRoute, may I use another Bluetooth GPS receiver?
May anyone help me, please?
Tnx in advance!
Claus

I didn't know you could buy the GPS 10 without City Select.

If (below) you've already unlocked them to two units, you cannot unlock
them to a third .. without spending $$$.

To use them with nRoute in a PC.

Check the nRoute info at Garmin website. I think it identifies which
GPSrs are supported.

The GPS 10 is sold without any maps. Have to look for it with
"shopper" web sites. It is generally named "GPS 10 Receiver" or "GPS
OEM Receiver" without the map kit. It sells for as little as $125 (or
maybe cheaper on eBay if used).

I use it with nRoute and Mapsource (older version) on a laptop and also
with a Palm TX PDA. Both communicate with the GPS 10 via bluetooth.
Garmin now gives away the Que program fpr PDA's for free. I haven't
tried any of the very new maps so I don't know if there is a "locking"
issue. My favorite, MetyroGuide, works like a charm and my City
Select, not a favorite, works too.

The Que program doesn't have all the features that nRoute offers but
it's nice to have it all in one small package on the PDA.

You can.

So that you can use the 10 as a receiver with the maps.

You can buy a third unlock from Garmin I believe.
