Hello over there,

does anybody know how to send a track to the ActiveTracklog of a
(Garmin 276C) GPSR, without losing the time (and speed) info?

Don't have a 276C, but my Garmins don't allow time data in the Active
Log to be sent to the GPS receiver. I believe the reason is so that
the Active Log can be used as evidence of passing checkpoints in some
competitive events. Naming the track data "Active Log" allows it to be
downloaded to the right track in memory (rather than to one of the
Saved Track slots), but only retains the lat/long/altitude data.

ths is not true for all Garmins. In particular, it is not true for the
GPSmap60CS. I remember that it was true for my old GPS12XL, though.

So I suppose that newer Garmins accept time-and-date when loading a track to
the active log memory.

Can't be done. Gamin does not allow it with any of their receivers that
have a tracklog. It stops people trying to falsely use the GPS to say
where they have been at a particular time...

I did not see Heinrich's post but Domenic is wrong and Heinrich is right.

Heinrich is right assuming he said it can be done. :)

I wasn't aware that Garmin had changed the behaviour with newer models
and am happy to concede that I was wrong if that is now the case.
