I'm a newbe to GPS. Just bought a Garmin c330 and lovin' it, except for
one problem. I'm sure this has come up before but the glare and washout
of the screen image in bright light makes viewing almost impossible.
Also, the screen acts like a mirror and reflects any brightly lit items
in the car (such as the driver). Is there any sort of anti-reflection
screen filter that can be purchased to help with viewing the screen.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There are some screen visibility comparisons here:

I assume the C320 and C330 are similar in this regard.

Best bet might be some sort of hood which shields the screen from
extraneous light, while still letting you see it from your driving
position. At one time there were such hoods available for some Garmin
models; but with the proliferization of designs now, it might have to be
a "do-it-yourself" deal.

Thanx for the response, but that's not the real problem. The screen acts
like a mirror and reflects light from within the car which washes out
the screen. The glare due to bright light is also a problem. This could
be lessened if some sort of anti reflective filter could be placed over
the screen. I don't know if such a thing is available.

I've been running into the same problem at sunset with backlighting
and looked into some DIY solutions; the problem however is that any
antiglare films I tried reduced the tactile sensitivity of the touch
screen.

Still looking, and if I come up with anything I'll certainly pass it
on - hoping you'll do the same!

Thank you for the response. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner,
but I was out of town for the week. If I come up with anything I'll
certainly post it. I'm surprised that Garmin doesn't make some kind of
effort to help remedy the problem. I'm sure they are aware of it.
