Garmin cartography in Oz

| For Western Australian country (i.e. non-metro) use what provides a
greater level of detail: City Navigator or Metroguide? I realise the
former also containes route planning software, but at nearly double
the price I could do without that if the map detail was the same.
NB: I have cehcked Garmin's "coverage map" facility, but that hasn't
helped me determine the answer to the above question.
Thank you,

My understanding is that they have the same mapping detail. I did a
quick sample (Tennant Creek) with Mapviewer and the detail shown there
was the same.
Likely an Oz user can provide a better answer .. and best would be an
email to Garmin Cartography

The detail of these (free) maps seems to be better than the the Garmin
maps in many parts of Australia. In the big cities Garmin's maps are
better.
I installed the maps and it works with mapsource.

I have to say that on initial inspection there is a wealth of non-metro
information that appears just what I was looking for.
Thank you Johannes.
