Author 60cx and compatability.

I am thinking for trading my Emap for a 60cx. I have the Topo and
MetroGuide, North AmericaV6. Both work fine on the Emap.

Garmin recommend Topo on the 60cx. Does anyone know about the Metroguide?
The Garmin website does not recommend it, but I suspect that's because
Metroguide does not do automatic routing. I also suspect that they want to
push you to a registered product.. The Metroguide Canada is recommended by
Garmin. Has anybody tried loading Metroguide NA?? I don't really want to
use automatic routes an I don't want to spend another $100+ on software.

Thanks in advance.

Some versions of Metroguide do support routing.

Metroguide is great to have around. Far more support for small roads
and back roads and even things like remote logging trails... none of
which even show up on City Select.

True for v4. V5 and higher of Metroguide do not autoroute on a GPSr. V4
does show lots of rural roads missing of later versions of MG, CS & CN.

My old v4 Metroguide works fine on the 60csx, which should effectively
be the same unit as yours. It even routes via the metroguide
net-list.
