Need some help. Just bought City Nav 8 DVD. Everything seems to install
correctly, but when I try to open map source my computer re-boots. What am I
doing wrong? Running win xp

Hmmm .. I've not heard of nor experienced that one. Is it the
only Mapsource product you have installed .. and all worked OK before?

I'd go for a re-install .. and remove all traces of Mapsource and
its products from the registry first.

This is what I've done. Uninstalled CN8 using CCleaner. Restarted computer
and did a disk defrag. Reinstalled CN8. I am able to open up the manual and
view the tutorial. This is how I try to open mapsource: Start,Garmin,
Mapsource. As soon as I click Mapsource my computer shuts down and does a
re-boot. I have Trip and Waypoint Manager installed. It does not give me
any problems.

This might help. From
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/ar...s-Shutdown.html

"If you just want to band-aid the problem, you can disable the restart on
system failure setting. To do so, right click on My Computer and select the
Properties command from the resulting shortcut menu. When you do, you will
see the System Properties sheet. Click the Advanced tab and click the
Settings button found in the Startup and Recovery section. Finally, deselect
the Automatically Restart check box."

Mike and Phil,
Thanks for the help. Problem solved. When I deselected auto restart, I saw
a message about a problem with my video card. Seems all I had to do was
slow down the card a notch. Everything is working all right. I was able to
download maps to my 60CSX without a problem. Thanks again!
