Author MCX to BNC converter / adaptor ??
Andrew

I have a GPS aerial (square) which has an MCX type end on it (very
small), and i want to be able to plug it into my Garmin Street Pilot
III. But the Street Pilot III has a BNC type connection. So i was
wondering if anyone knew if there was such thing as an MCX to BNC
adaptor and if so, where would i find one.

I know Maplin don't sell them and i have looked on e-bay without any
luck. I have also Googled, but have drawn a blank !!

Kind Regards,
Andrew

Thanks for the speedy reply. I did actually see that but noticed the
item was the wrong way round, that one terminates in a BNC Male and i
need it to take my MCX Male into a BNC female ! -

Maybe you're looking at the problem from the wrong end. I just did a
eBay search for "bnc mcx" and it turned up about 30 hits.

I tried the e-bay search but it only brings up antennas for GPS or BNC
MCX in USA !. I'm in UK.

Take a look at:

http://www.prairie.mb.ca/tri_m.htm

"GIL-BMA: MCX(M) to BNC(F)
Converts male MCX connector
to female BNC connector. To
be used with an BNC antenna,
for GPS devices having MCX
antenna ports Cable Length:
5.5 in." - $19 Canadian

They have quite a number of other combinations there as well.

I've done business with them and they seem to be very familiar with
Garmin products. I'd be surprised if you don't find what you wanted
there.

They were knowledgeable and the service was fast (considering that
they're in Manitoba and I'm in California). Shipping something to the UK
is another story (might not even be worth your while in terms of cost -
assuming they ship things to the other side of the pond in the first
place).

By the way, Is it really BNC or might it be FME? (FME is what I needed
for my Mighty Mouse=>Garmin 12XL connection - FME(F)=>MCX(M) - and they
had that as well. To the uninitiated, it looks like BNC).

Hope you find what you're looking for.

Amphenol makes a series of what they call "between-series adapters."
Newark (http://www.newark.com) carries them all and has no minimum
order. See
http://www.newark.com/product-detai...alog/73112.html for a
list.
