Garmin GPS60 - Custom Way Point Symbols

| Along with all the different symbols I can select for a Way Point in my
unit there is a section for customised symbols. All these customisable
symbols are the same, a circle, selecting one as a symbol there seems to
be no way to customise it. Is there a way to customise them? If not then
they can hardly be called Custom Symbols and why 24 identical ones?

You can download these to your PC, modify them, and then upload them
once more to your GPS using Garmin XImage

Try http://www.elsinga.org/custom-waypoint-symbols.html for some custom
waypoints
already created.

When you install MapSource, a directory
....\My Documents\My Garmin\Custom Waypoint Symbols
is created with generic icons for your custom waypoints as bitmaps.
You can use any bitmap editor to make your own images, and add more.
See MapSource help topic "Using Customized Waypoint Symbols".

Thanks all. This is very useful as now and again I want to use a symbol
that doesn't seem to be listed.
