Erasing Waypoints in total?
|

| I have about 50 Waypoints in my Quest. When I upload them to Mapsource, I
sometimes edit them in Mapsource (change the name of some, for example), and
then download them to the unit again. But the original Waypoints are still
there. So, question is, is there a way to either force all of the
Waypoints in Mapsource to override the entire list on the unit, or perhaps
to be able to erase the unit's list in total? (I don't want to erase any of
the maps or the routes....).
Didn't see such an option in the manual, and I don't want to have to do it
one by one.
Am I missing something simple here? Thanks!

You should be able to do the latter. I don't have a Quest, but on my
Garmins if I have a waypoint selected and then hit 'MENU' I get options
to delete that particular waypoint, all waypoints with that symbol, or
*all* waypoints.

It won't affect the maps, but the routes will generally include
waypoints. I'd first save all waypoints and routes to MapSource, edit
them as desired, erase all waypoints on the unit, and finally transfer
back the waypoints/routes you want from MapSource.

I have not found a easy way to erase waypoint. Remember that if a waypoint
is needed for a route in the computer the route will change.
First I press the Find key once. Enter Recent Find. Rocker down to the
waypoint that you want to delete, then Rocker right and press enter. This
will delete the waypoints here,
Next Page to the Map screen. move the arrow to a unused waypoint. Press
enter twice and a window with the option to delete will come up.

| I have a Quest.
Press Find, pick My Locations, press Menu, pick Delete, then All my
locations.
Not exactly easy to figure out I admit.

BINGO! Thanks a lot (and the others who attempted to help; MiataRed's
instructions are perfect.)
