I upload tracks from shapefiles using DNR Garmin. The transfer is well
completed as I can see the track log on the gps map before saving the track,
by selecting ``No`` to the question `Do you want to save the entire track ?
`

After saving the track by selecting `Yes` , the saved track itself is
hide by many directs lignes connecting different points added to the
original track.

Any suggestion to fix the problem ?

The 10 or 20 "Saved" tracklogs supported by Garmin receivers are
simplified compared to the original "Active" tracklog in several ways:
1) date/timestamps are generally removed
2) the number of trackpoints is limited so the log is compressed to
have fewer points
3) no gaps are supported so any gaps in the "Active" log are joined
with straight lines.

Sounds like the third item above is causing your problem. One solution
would be to turn off tracklog recording of the Active log and just use
that to display your uploaded tracks - i.e. don't go through the 'Save'
step on your GPS. Of course that has the drawback that you would no
longer get new tracklog data as you move around. Another approach
would be to convert your tracklog data to a vector map format and load
it as maps instead of tracklogs. This is more involved, but gives you
far more flexibility since it gives you essentially an unlimited number
of tracklogs and they can use multiple line types, be labeled on the
screen just like roads, etc.

One guide to the process is given here:

Thanks Peter,
My feeling was a setting problem on my device. I
understand now it come from the software (not supporting gaps) and that is
nothing I can do to correct it. You are right with your first option of
working from the Active log, and you are also right with the drawback of it,
as I had experimented. I will try to use your second option.
