Have loaded both the City Navigator North America 8 and US Topo 24 K maps
onto my GPSmap 60CSX. So far I have been unable to switch between the 2. I
have to keep loading whichever one I want to use again. Is there anyone that
can help me...Thanks Karl

From the map view press (Menu) ..Select Setup Map...Enter...Menu again
....You should see all your maps listed
Select Hide all...then select show (your map of choice)

When you create the map file in MapSource and upload it so the GPS, you
have to select both the CNNA maps and the US Topo maps, then have both
uploaded to the GPS at the same time. Otherwise, you are simply
overwriting one with the other each time you upload them.

There is only one map file that will work, it is gmapsupp.img by name,
and it is in a \garmin folder off of the route of the microSD card.

A good way to save you selections in CN NA and Topo, is to save them to
a *.gdb file from MapSource. And you can also run two instances of
MapSource, make the selections for CN NA in one and Topo in the other,
and save each of those to *.gdb files.

To combine the map selections in two or *.gdb files for upload, open
each *.gdb file in a separate instance of MapSource, select all the maps
from the Map tab, copy the maps, and paste it into the map tab on one of
the others. That way you can have all the maps combined in one
selection and ready for upload to the GPS.

It takes some time, like 30 minutes or so, to create and upload about 1
GB of maps with the GPS on a USB connection. If you copy the
gmapsupp.img file from the GPS and save it on the hard drive, you can
copy that back to the same GPS later, it will work, and it takes less
time than it would to do all the selections and upload it again from
scratch.
